Study Room, Classroom, and Conference Room Policy

Townsend library has three private study rooms and many open areas throughout the facility for study space. Patrons are asked to keep noise levels respectful of others using the facility. Rooms are first-come, first-served to all patrons. Reservations are not normally required but may be considered case by case by the Library Director.


Private study rooms are equipped with Smart TVs and can be used by students, faculty, and staff only. Equipment must be signed for at the circulation desk before use. Using NMSU-A credentials to sign-in is required. No more than four people are allowed in each of the rooms. Noise volume from conversation, Zoom meetings, cell phones, etc. must be kept at a reasonable.


The library has a large classroom equipped with computers for instructional classes. Instructors can reserve this room as needed by contacting the Library Director. This classroom is also used by the library for guided instruction on the use of library databases and the library website. These classes can be scheduled by any instructor by contacting the Library Director.


The conference room at the library can safely accommodate up to 10 people. A tv and computer can be set up if needed for presentations, Zoom meetings, etc. This room can be requested for use by contacting the Library Director.
