Child Policy
Children are welcome at David H. Townsend Library. All children in the facility are subject to library rules and regulations. Library staff cannot assume responsibility or supervision of children. Anyone under the age of 18, and who is not a current NMSU-A student, will not be permitted to use the library unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. Children under the age of 12 must be with their parent/guardian at all times. They are not permitted alone in the stacks, bathrooms, or the front desk. If a child under the age of 12 is left unattended, library staff will notify the police and stay with the child until police arrive. Townsend library does not have materials in the collection for children.
