Scholarships

Criteria:

• Must be a high school senior with a 2.5 cumulative high school GPA or have a GED score of 600 or higher or HiSET score of 50 or higher.

• Must enroll in 12 or more NMSU-A credit hours.

• Must be a New Mexico resident who will graduate from a New Mexico high school or receive a New Mexico GED or HiSET.

• Home-schooled students will have to take the New Mexico GED or HiSET to qualify for this scholarship.

• This scholarship will pay ONLY for classes taken at the Alamogordo campus. It will not cover any classes taken at other campuses.

Amount: $500 (2 available)

Criteria:

    • Must be a degree-seeking female student enrolled at NMSU-Alamogordo.
    • Must have completed at least 12 college credit hours and have had at least one-semester break at some point in her college attendance.
    • Must be enrolled in no fewer than six semester hours (online classes accepted).
    • Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the most recent 12 hours of college credit.
    • This must be documented by an official transcript from the Registrar’s Office or an internet copy containing the official letter stating it is a certified valid transcript.
    • Must be able to give a brief description of financial need.
    • Must be a citizen of the United States.

Children between the ages of 16-26 whose veteran parent was killed in action or died as a result of their wounds incurred in battle, qualify for a full tuition waiver at any state-funded post-secondary school. A $150 stipend, per semester, will be issued to help with books or fees.

The Grace UMC Endowment Foundation is pleased to announce the availability of applications for the Tharp Educational, Kiel Bonnell, Dr. Joe & Zoe Emanuel, and J.E.T. Scholarships. Scholarships are open to qualifying graduating high school seniors and current full-time college students in Otero County.

Applications are available on the church website, (site address on the front page) from the menu under “Ministries & Missions” and select “Scholarships.”
