Apply For Aid

Every October 1st opens the next academics FAFSA's!

  1. Apply for Admissions in a degree-seeking program.
  2. Create a FSA ID. Be sure to use an email address that you will have access to after you leave college and that your name matches your social security card. NOTE: If you are under the age of 24, please have your parents create a FSA ID with their own email address.
  3. Log into FAFSA and select the aid year you are applying for (NOTE: An academic year starts on August 1 and ends on July 31)
  4. Create a myNMSU account to review any requirements and to enroll for direct deposit.
  5. Wait 7 to 10 business days after submitting your FAFSA to review your requirements on your myNMSU account.
    • Please submit all requirements to the Financial Aid Office if you are selected for verification.
  6. Accept the Terms and Conditions on myNMSU.
