3. Accept Student loan on myNMSU

Every October 1st opens the next academics FAFSA's!

1. Apply for Admissions in a degree-seeking program.

2. Create a FSA ID. Be sure to use an email address that you will have access to after you leave college and that your name matches your social security card. NOTE: If you are under the age of 24, please have your parents create a FSA ID with their own email address.

3. Log into FAFSA and select the aid year you are applying for (NOTE: An academic year starts on August 1 and ends on July 31)

  • Try to link your taxes by using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool
  • If unable to link, please order a copy of your IRS Tax Return from IRS.GOV

4. Create a myNMSU account to review any requirements and to enroll for direct deposit.

5. Wait 7 to 10 business days after submitting your FAFSA to review your requirements on your myNMSU account. Please submit all requirements to the Financial Aid Office if you are selected for verification.

6. Accept the Terms and Conditions on myNMSU.
