Media Lounge

 

The Townsend Library Media Lounge is a designated space intended to provide relaxation and entertainment for students, faculty, and staff.


The following guidelines apply to the use of the Media Lounge:


Students, faculty, and staff only; sign-in and sign-out are required. A valid NMSU ID or NMSU-A library card must be presented.
• Not open to the public
• No children (under 18) allowed at any time
• Open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Hours may change depending on availability and scheduled events
• Any group utilizing the room for a special event must complete a request form. Requests will be reviewed by the Library Director. Upon approval, the group will sign a contract, follow all facility rules, and will be responsible for cleaning the space and returning any moved furniture before leaving. Any damages are the responsibility of the group or unit using the room. Event approval may take into consideration participant age and appropriateness of use, and events that include individuals under the age of 18 may be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Library Director.
• Gaming consoles and games must remain in the Media Lounge or with library staff and are not permitted for use outside of the room
• Some food and drinks are allowed
• Any movies shown must comply with copyright law. Public showings require a performance license from the rights holder
