About Quality Matters at NMSU-A
Quality Matters Implementation Plan
New Mexico State University Alamogordo is committed to implement the Quality Matters standards for the design of online and hybrid courses, and we are systematically building and evaluating our courses based on these rigorous, research-based standards. The Quality Matters standards assure that the online components of these courses promote learner engagement and provide students with all the tools and information they need to be successful learners. More information regarding Quality Matters may be found on their web site.
Quality Matters Roles
The Quality Matters(QM) process utilizes a variety of roles to create an environment of continuous improvement for our courses. Two of these roles are Peer Reviewer and Master Reviewer. We would like to acknowledge our reviewers and their tireless work to assist our faculty in the implementation of the Quality Matters Rubric in their courses.
Peer Reviewers
To become a Peer Reviewer a faculty member must have successfully completed the QM Peer Reviewer course and have current online teaching experience (within the last 18 months). They must also apply to and be accepted by QM as a reviewer.
