Pays a Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA) up to E-5 BAH with a dependent rate. MHA is calculated based on the zip code of the campus where the student physically attends the majority of classes, rather than the location of the institution of higher learning where the student is enrolled. |

Refer to Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E) Subsistence Allowance Rates for pay rate information. If a student is participating in a VR&E program and also qualifies for Post-9/11 GI Bill® benefits, then the student can choose to get paid the GI Bill® subsistence rate instead of the Chapter 31 subsistence allowance rate. In most cases, the GI Bill® rate is higher. |
