About Title V - Project RC3

New Mexico State University Alamogordo has been designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) by the U.S. Department of Education.

Our HSI designation allowed us to apply for and be awarded a Title V Developing Hispanic Serving Institutions Project (DHSI).

This five-year grant will allow our campus to enhance services for minority and low-income students with an initiative called Ready, Commit, Continue, and Complete (Project RC3).

We will focus on increasing local enrollment, retention, and graduation rates, as well as supporting students who intend to transfer to our main campus.

Project RC3 is driven by three specific goals:

Goal 1: Academic Program

Increase efficacy at NMSU-A to ensure more Hispanic and low-income students to complete a certificate or degree plan that will lead toward placement into the workforce or into a 4-year institution.

Goal 2: Institutional Management

Provide data, access to data, and training on how to access, interpret and utilize data to promote student success across all administrative and academic units.

Goal 3: Fiscal Stability

Improve student opportunities through increased revenue from external funding sources, new enrollment, and improved persistence to degrees.

All goals are written for this purpose: To expand educational opportunities for, and improve the academic attainment of Hispanic students; to expand and enhance the academic offerings, program quality, and institutional stability of the colleges and universities that educate the majority of Hispanic students.
