Shannon Vane
Shannon Vane, MSN, RN, FNP-C, CPN Shannon Vane is an assistant professor in the Allied Health Department for New Mexico State University-Alamogordo. She is currently teaching the Medical Terminology course as an online adjunct for NMSU-Alamogordo.
She has been teaching the course Medical Terminology as an online adjunct in the Allied Health Department for the past three years. She also taught in as a NMSU School of Nursing Faculty member while residing in Alamogordo, New Mexico. She has been involved with the nursing profession as a nurse and nurse educator for over 15 years. She is a graduate of East Carolina University where she received her bachelor’s in nursing.
She went on to receive her master’s in science of nursing specializing nursing education from Sacred Heart University and another master’s in science of nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the Medical University of South Carolina. She has also been a certified pediatric nurse since 2016. Professor Vane is also a decorated combat US Air Force veteran who served two tours in Afghanistan in the USAF Nurse Corps.
She has published in the Urologic Journal of Nursing and was also a daisy award nominee while serving as faculty in the NMSU School of Nursing. Her nursing interests are critical care, pediatrics, preventative health, nursing education and leadership, and trauma-informed care.
