I have been married to my wonderful wife, Bobbie, for the last 30 years. I love to cook, especially anything that goes on the grill or smoker; I think I love cooking because I love to experiment when I cook. (I take good notes to make sure that I am learning and improving from past results.) The only thing that I love cooking more than BBQ is beer. I have been home brewing for over 30 years, and you just can't beat the taste of a good home-brew.

I received my bachelor's degree at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, which is where I met Bobbie, and I received my masters at the University of Denver. After graduating I taught chemistry as a part-time instructor in Denver for 6 years and then moved to Alamogordo, where I have taught chemistry full-time for the last 21 years.

When I was taking my first Chemistry class, I had many of my fellow student's come to me for help and it was those students that convinced me to become a Chemistry teacher. I thank them every day because I just love my job.
