How College is Different than High School:
- You have to arrange your own schedule and manage your own time.
- You are responsible for knowing the requirements to complete your degree and applying for Graduation
- The Academic Year is divided into semesters. During Fall and Spring semesters there is a 16-week sessions as well as a 1st and 2nd 8-week session. During the Summer semester there are 1st and 2nd 5-week sessions and one 10- week session
- Classes in college are anywhere from 1.5 – 2.5 hours long and meet a couple days a week.
- You need to spend at least 6-12 hours per week outside of class time studying
- It is up to the student to remember when assignments are due.
- Make-up Tests and Extra Credit are rarely an option and are offered at the Professor’s discretion.
- You must pay for your college courses, and textbooks are generally NOT included in these charges.
